Pamela Jean Smith (February 24, 1948 - April 26, 2007)

Pamela Jean (Anderson) Smith passed away in her home April 26, 2007, of cancer. Pamela was born February 24, 1948, to Clinton and Velma Anderson. She was raised in Thornton, and continued to live on the family farm after she married. As a child she loved all living things and spent most of her time helping her father on the farm. Pamela attended Madison High School and graduated in 1966. She was then married to A. Craig Smith the following fall. Pamela felt most comfortable outdoors and loved planting and “playin’ in the dirt”. She was an incredibly creative person and continually worked on projects around the house; from woodwork, to sewing, to crafts, to gardening, to oil painting, she created beauty all around her. She dedicated her life to raising her three children and taking care of her family. She supported her children through involvement in school plays and activities. After raising her family, her love for living things led her to a position at Lone Pine Nursery in Rexburg. She found enjoyment restoring life and beauty to all of those around her.

Surviving are her husband A. Craig Smith; son Jason C. Smith and wife of Edmonds, WA; son A.C. Smith of Rexburg; and daughter Angela J. Smith; five grandchildren, Wyatt Smith, Ryan Smith, Ryker Smith, Tyson Smith of Rexburg and Britain Smith of Edmonds; and sisters Colene Wilson and Kathleen Koon both of Rexburg.

At her request, a private memorial service will be held for immediate family at a later date. In lieu of flowers, please donate to an account at The Bank of Commerce, established in her honor to be donated to the Susan B. Komen Foundation to help fund cancer research.
