Menan Crash Kills Woman An 18-year old woman was killed Friday night two miles east of Menan on a county road when the car she was driving swerved out of control on a curve and rolled over. Rodd Ropp of the Idaho State Patrol identified the victim as Miss Eliza Merle Freeman, 18, of Rexburg and said she was thrown from the car as it rolled over her. Five other passengers in the car escaped injury. They were Terry Marshall, 21, and his twin daughters, Vici, 1, and Donna, 2; Sheila Kay Freeman, 10, sister of the victim; and Tina Marie Freeman, 1, daughter of the victim all of Rexburg. Ropp reported that the car was eastbound on the Jefferson County road at 3:30 p.m. when it attempted to negotiate a curve at high speed and rolled over. Eliza Merle Freeman, 18, was born June 3, 1948 at St. Anthony, the daughter of Bud and Ardella Freeman, presently of Rexburg. Miss Freeman lived in Rexburg all her life attending schools there. She had recently enrolled in an Idaho Falls beauty school. Besides her parents, she is survived by an infant daughter, Tina Marie; two sisters: Mrs. Jessey (Diane) Roker, of Labelle and Sheila Kay Freeman of Rexburg. Internment will be in the Sugar City Cemetery. Funeral services will be held at 2 p.m. Monday, at the Rexburg LDS 4th Ward with Bishop Wayne Smart officiating.
